Bye Bye Problem

Cate was Hanna’s senior back in college days. Their chance encounter right in the place they least expect feels like a scene from the movie, ‘Serendipity’. They spent the whole evening @ Starbuck.  Time pane moves from freshmanship to Cate’s convo as they recount those wonder years. You see, Hanna just graduated. She’s jobhunting right now. She’s seeking Cate’s wise words as she flashforward. Incidentally, Cate has been working in the HR Dept for a few years.

‘Nowadays, who do employers look for ?’ asked Hanna.

‘They would like to know if you blend in well with their culture’ replied Cate.

‘Ya, but how ?’ asked Hanna

‘They request link to your facebook, twitter, linkedin, etc ?’  ’ They would like to see you as a living person, not just a working machine.’ ‘They profile you better through social network.’ explained Cate.

‘Hence, don’t post yourself struggling to pull up that tight jeans after putting up weight in facebook, explained further by Cate.

‘Oh I see’ ! replied Hanna.

‘You know how to shoot video.’ They love to see a self video presentation.’ said Cate.

‘But I have no experience in that’ replied Hanna.

”Then, you gotto learn, baby !’ commented Cate.

‘Watch Steve Jobs presentation on youtube advised Cate.

How ?

What if we regularly self-suggest these two words to our mind ?

• IMPORTANT  !
• ‘not important’

Your mind listen to your own self-suggestion.

The mind acts on it.

Regular self-suggestion leads to auto-suggestion.

It leads to your mind auto-distinguish stuff as important or not.

Mind becomes e-mail account.

Practise !

Mind traffic will be eventually under control someday.

A medical professor was lecturing to a group of students. It’s a lesson on psychological aspect and impact in the medical profession.

Excerpt from his lecture.

Prof               :        You can’t get too emotionally attached to the patient.

A student    :        Why, Professor ?

Prof               :         You’ll get depressed & it drains all your energy.

A student    :         How far I need to stay away from patient ?

Prof                :          Be cool.

He got that part.  Because he’s good looking ?  Well, many who attended the audition are.

They have started working. I’m still job-hunting for months. We both graduated with excellent CGPA from the same faculty.

Found answer to the above ?  They’re lucky ?  How lucky ? What’s luck then ? What has luck got to do ?

Talent helps one to succeed ? Well, there’re many talented & aspiring people in the world.

Why some got their lucky break and some don’t ? Why not everyone are presented with the same golden opportunity ?

Keep on trying ? Never lose hope ?  How long will you wait ?

Is life & future governed just by intelligence ? Is there any other forces at work in life ?

Enigmatic ?

In Buddhist, Hinduism & Taoism context, life & future are governed by karma. Karma from past & present lives.  When good karmic fruit ripens, all’s a walk in the path. When bad karmic fruit ripens, everything will go wrong.

Karma is a system of points. Merit and demerit. It’s all from our actions in past & present lives.

Then, can we still control fate ? Yes but it will take time. Just like a seed that takes time to grow & bear fruit.

Do charitable work. Pay it forward. You’ll gain merit points. Things will change better but again, bear in mind it takes time.

In ancient China, people keep beans. When a good deed is done, they put a white bean in a jar. When it’s bad as they  repent, they’ll put a red one in another jar. During year-end like now, they’ll count the number of white & red beans.

This is how life & future works.

Not just hard work, talents & intelligence.

You definitely need luck (charitable merit points) to help you.
